Hold a physical ruler against the line below. Adjust pixels per mm until the line measures exactly 50 mm. Recalibrate after changing browser zoom or monitors.

At your bench

Actual size uses your screen calibration (default: 3.25 pixels/mm). Fit to window preserves proportions but is not life-size.

Size D starts at 0.25 mm per turn. Measure a test wrap for your thread and tension. Paired spirals advance two thread widths per revolution. Thread estimate excludes setup turns, tag ends and waste.

Wrapping recipe

Your turn-by-turn reference for the bench. Spiral counts are finished paired revolutions.

Paired transitions follow Mud Hole’s alternative fade technique: wrap both threads side by side, then terminate the outgoing color. Allow one extra setup pair; final coverage depends on tying off and burnishing. Spirals are subtle at actual size—use Inspect 4× and Flat layout to inspect them.
